The Hotels Association of South East Mallorca have joined forces to promote their area, which is well known in summer for its famous white sandy beaches and crystal clear blue waters. However, when the hot summer months have passed, the area completely changes in character and it is the autumn/winter/spring months which are the best time to explore its beaches, coves, salt pans, flora and fauna which are all full of wildlife.

The guide entitled “Natural Mallorca” has been compiled by local ornithologist, Maties Rebassa, who suggests six different routes with a large detailed map for birdwatchers and nature lovers featuring a variety of species, including many that are unique to the Mediterranean.

Visitors should also see the Cabrera National Park Visitor Centre in Colonia San Jordi. A multi- tiered museum from the lower aquarium level featuring over 200 different species of fish and Mediterranean coral found around Cabrera Island. Going up to the historic level featuring and large and colourful mural of 500m2 telling the history of the Mediterranean.

Daily winter opening hours: 09.30 – 14.00 15.00 – 18.00. Winter entrance fees start at 5€ per adult and 3€ per child (up to 12 years):
