INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN COMPETITION AT THE ES FANGAR ESTATE
OVER TWO WEEKENDS; SEPTEMBER 30TH – OCTOBER 2nd & OCTOBER 7th-9th

One of Mallorca’s largest private estates, Es Fangar, located in the centre of the island with over 1000 hectares of private land, will stage Spain’s most prestigious equestrian events, offering international competitors some of the most advanced and sophisticated facilities for horses in the country.

The event, called the Balearen Tour, is now in its third year and is expected to attract 20,000 visitors with participants from 20 countries and over 200 horses. It is ranked as one of 12 top equestrian events held worldwide and will be staged over two weekends. The first weekend of September 30th – October 2nd will feature a National Dressage Competition up to Grand Prix CDN3* and is set to attract top dressage riders from all over Europe. Together with an International Dressage Competition CDI4* up to Grand Prix and Freestyle categories. Furthermore, this event will also be open to international pony dressage for junior hopefuls.

The second weekend of October 7th – 9th will include an International Dressage Competition CDI5* up to Grand Prix and Freestyle representing a one off experience to see some of the world’s top competitors perform. In addition, on Saturday, October 10th, there will be a magnificent display with some of the world’s best dressage riders with their famous Hanoverian horses.

Entrance to the entire event is free to the public who can also enjoy an artisan market running alongside the arena and a culinary festival offering tastings of many local and international foods, wines and delicacies including local produce from the Es Fangar estate.

Facilities for the horses and their riders are also first class with an 800 metre gallop track, complete with the best Dammann, ebb and flow riding surface; a covered longeing hall equipped with a Dammann riding surface; 1000 hectares of closed land for riding and special preparatory training areas. Horses can cool off after training in one of the special horse showers.

Background

The stud farm on the Es Fangar estate was started in 2007 when the first Hanoverian horses arrived with the objective of breeding the horses in harmony with their environment in the natural setting of the estate which extends of 1000 hectares with 480 hectares dedicated to the stud farm. In 2014 the first Balearen Tour event was organised at the estate.

Wine is also cultivated at Es Fangar with vineyards covering 64 hectares of land that is dedicated to the organic and sustainable cultivation of indigenous grape varieties to produce fine quality wine.
