As investment continues to pour into Mallorca with yet more hotel openings for the forthcoming summer season, here’s a round-up of the latest openings:

Sa Posada de Terra Santa, Palma Old Town – NOW OPEN!

Another privately owned hotel project which is a major refurbishment of a 16th century building dating back to 1576 and was the original headquarters for the Curia Baronial de Bunyoli (an important noble family) in the Sa Gerreria area of Palma’s old town. Behind the hotel’s medieval façade is a stylish four star boutique hotel with 26 rooms and a small spa. There are a variety of room categories from a double standard at 201€ per night (including breakfast and local tax) to 468€ per night for the Baron Suite. Boutique Hotel Can Alomar – NOW OPEN!

The new Boutique Hotel Can Alomar on Palma’s Paseo Born Boulevard is a complete refurbishment of a magnificent 19th century Baroque style building located on Palma’s elegant Borne Boulevard and above some of the city’s top designer boutiques. This is the third hotel opening for Miguel Conde and his architect wife in just under two years with Can Cera, a 17th century “palacio” and the Boutique Hotel Calatrava (opened last April on the outskirts of Palma’s old town overlooking Palma Bay). Cuba Colonial – Palma – opening summer 2014 

This iconic building in the heart of Palma’s bustling Santa Catalina market area and close to the Royal Yacht Club is now in the final pre opening stages. The building has been completely refurbished by a local Mallorcan businessman to create an elegant 4 star boutique hotel to retain this beautiful landmark. OD Port Portals – NOW OPEN! This new re development of an existing hotel is located at the entrance of Puerto Portals with views to the Port and only 20 minutes drive from Palma International Airport. The design concept for the OD Port Portals is based on retro glamour and features 77 rooms including 10 junior suites. Facilities include a large swimming pool, restaurant bar lobby area, four conference rooms with a total capacity for up to 200 people, plus free high speed Wifi throughout the hotel.
